Sometimes The Medical Conferences Are Not Bad When The Venue Is As Good As Mumbai

I usually avoid medical conferences as a very few of them are really productive. I think that conferences are particularly great for those medical professors who like to socialize with experts coming from the different cities of India. However, all the conferences are not that bad. Some of them are really great and very helpful in boosting the knowledge about the upcoming technologies in medical science. There is one more reason that makes some of the conferences worth attending. I am talking about the venue. When the venue is as good as Mumbai, the conference automatically becomes worth attending.

The Gateway of India was one thing that I always wanted to see in Mumbai

I was in Mumbai once before and that too was an official visit. Unfortunately, I did not have a lot of time to explore the places that make Mumbai so popular. This time, I made sure to give myself some time apart from the conference to explore at least a few places. The Gateway of India was always one of the places that I always wanted to visit in Mumbai. After attending the conference, the first place that I was headed to was the Gateway of India.

  1. I took a taxi that left me right at the square from where the Gateway of India was at the walking distance.
  2. I was surprised to find a long queue of the people waiting for the entry. It felt as if I had come to visit a popular temple because I had never seen such a long queue anywhere other than temples.
  3. After about 15 minutes, I was at the entrance where a couple of policemen were scanning people for arms or explosives. It was just a casual check, seemed more like a formality than anything else.
  4. There were some old heritage building and hotels on that short passage from the square to the entrance of the Gateway of India.
  5. The view of the Gateway of India was amazing as expected but something I did not expect was the wonderful view of the Taj Hotel, both the new and the old Taj.
  6. The architecture was amazing and also the height of the whole structure was beyond my expectations.
  7. I also discovered that there were powerboats available from the same venue for the popular Ajanta and Ellora caves. This time, I was late. Maybe next time, I would try visiting the place.

Matsyaganda Express 12620 was a dedicated train from Mangalore to Mumbai

I am pretty comfortable going by train as long there is some sort of urgency and I am required to be at some place immediately. After working out all the options for Mangalore to Mumbai trains, I thought that Matsyaganda Express 12620 was the best option as it was a dedicated train between Mangalore and Mumbai and thus the timings at both the places were feasible. Also, the availability was not that hard to find as compared to some of the other trains that go beyond Mumbai.
